Early this evening Philip’s philosophy students meet for their weekly class. So we thought that this week the students might enjoy a little nourishment to go along with all that philosophizing. After all it is hard to engage Plato (this week’s selection) on an empty stomach at the close of a busy academic school day. The Republic, book 7, the allegory of the cave was discussed by the philosophy club and I have been told that the library is actually as cold as a cave.
So todays offering was comprised of banana crumble muffins and hot Twinings tea. OK well it’s hardly the typical drink of philosopher’s, which I have heard is red wine in abundance, but we wouldn’t want to encourage any bad behavior. All the same muffins and tea seem to set just the right atmosphere for a group of young minds to enjoy on a cold wintry evening in a French library; don’t you think?
